This year, the Viva Panettone adventure is taking an exciting turn: heading to Las Vegas to participate in the North American selections for the Panettone World Cup. More than a competition, it's an opportunity to represent Canadian and Quebec artisanal expertise in a competition where panettone excellence is showcased.
The North American selections in Las Vegas
During the week of September 16, our team will present a traditional panettone with candied fruits, specially designed for this decisive stage. The goal? To qualify among the two North American finalists who will secure their place for the grand finale in Milan.
As Anthony Daniele, artisan and co-founder of Viva Panettone, emphasizes:
“Every year, when the judges taste our panettones, we experience a multitude of emotions. In the United States, Italian gastronomy is very popular, and the competition is strong. But we believe that our authenticity and high standards can make a difference.”
The key role of the ambassador program
Before heading to Las Vegas, our creation went through a unique stage: tasting by our ambassador customers. These loyal Viva Panettone partners were able to step into the shoes of the judges and exclusively taste the panettone that will represent us.
This valuable feedback allowed us to refine our recipe and confirm our mission: to offer Canadians a high-quality artisanal panettone, respecting Italian traditions while being adapted to local tastes.
Éric Goeury, co-founder of Viva Panettone, summarizes the spirit of the project:
“If we are selected, it will be an immense source of pride. But beyond the competition, it's confirmation that our approach of bringing people together around an authentic artisanal product makes sense.”

Candidates are judged on specific criteria:
- Visual aspect: volume and regularity of the crust
- Texture: lightness and elasticity of the crumb
- Aromas: balance between natural fermentation and filling
- Taste: richness and harmony of flavors
